this month i’m getting the chance to do multiple ministries! God is so good!
i am working at a nutrition clinic that feeds children under the age of 5 who are extremely malnourished, i’m mentoring and encouraging 16 and 17 year old girls in the mornings with devotionals, i am teaching and tutoring students in the school, and teaching music lessons (songs in creol AND english) to some of the most beautiful and gifted girls that desire to sing for Jesus! i’m also helping lead worship for any and every need. we are about a 20-minute walk from the beach, also! did i mention that GOD IS SO GOOD??
i wanted to post some pictures (sorry there aren’t moree, i will post more SOON, the internet and electricity is terrible here in Haiti) to let you guys have a look at some of the things going on here in Haiti.
this is the Medika Mamba (medicated peanut butter!) it’s given in tablespoon doses to the children every hour for 6-12 hours a day (depending on their nutritional need) for 8 to 10 weeks. The parents are given special guidelines and it is DEFINITELY a big responsibility to feed the children. It take a lot of time out of their work days.

this is where the women come and wait to have their children checked weekly. The children in the Mamba program are weighed, and measured on a weekly basis. If the children are eating the mamba as directed, it is EVIDENT in their body weight. Sometimes, the parents feed the Mamba to other children (who might be hungry, but are not malnourished) instead of giving it all to the one who has the most need. their weight will drop dramatically in a week. It’s a challenge to help the parents understand the importance of sticking with the program, so they have to sign contracts agreeing to be honorable with the Mamba. PLEASE PRAY for these children and their parents. just as God’s eye is on the sparrow… I am praying that these parents would see this Mamba as a blessing from God to give nutrition to their children.

this is where the parents are given the Mamba for the following week and where the children are weighed and checked for progress. the really cool thing about the program is that there is a 87% success rate! Elsie (one of the nurses here) told me that she see kids that did the program 3 years ago running around and growing strong like normal kids. she said you would never know that at one point they are protein deficient and malnourished! God is faithful to complete the work He has began in each of His children. He loves these children. He has given me a passionate love for each of the children. I pray God’s promises and His word over every child that I see in the clinic.

I believe that God has a very special plan for the country of Haiti. He is redeeming them more and more daily. He is their victory. His people are calling out to Him and He is answering them in great and mighty ways that they never thought were possible!!! (jer33.3)
