THE MORNING AFTER we arrived in Targu Mures (my new home city in Romania) was our first day of ministry! I was EXHAUSTED… but excited to meet the gypsies!
Our contact here, Pastor Zsombar (shzombar), told us that nobody had preached the gospel to this Hungarian gypsy village in Transilvania before, so we were excited to see what the Spirit would do!
When we arrived, the leaders of the village said we had 60 minutes to present what God had put on our hearts, so we immediately began to sing songs to usher in the presence of the Lord!

The first face I noticed was the face of a this beautiful young girl… a young girl that had the weight of the world on her shoulders and two small children wrapped around her legs. Her face was stunning, but I immediately sensed sadness.
As worship went on and a few teammates gave testimonies, I couldn’t help but keep staring at this girl’s face. We finally made eye contact… and I slowly made my way over to standing by her side. We couldn’t understand a word each other wanted to say, put I just began to speak LIFE over her and tell her how precious she was in the sight of the Lord and how she was so valuable and worthy of love and that Jesus loved her more than she would ever comprehend.
Her countenance began to change… and within the short time that we were there, I saw her countenance go from weighty and sad to hopeful and joyful.
The power of the Holy Spirit is strong. By His power, mountains are turned into plains (ZECH4:6). By His power a young girl’s sadness is turned into JOY.
I will never forget her face.
