Today, the shoe company TOMS is asking for people across America to go “ONE DAY WITHOUT SHOES,” they are asking people to go the day, part of the day, or even just a few minutes barefoot, to try and experience a life without shoes firsthand… and to help spread awareness of the impact a simple pair of shoes can bring to a child’s life.
Today, I am going without shoes.

if you know me… you know that going barefoot is pretty much the norm in my life!

but today,… going barefoot holds a new significance… today I am reminded of how privileged I am to have the option of wearing shoes.
There are at least 300 million children that go without shoes EVERY DAY.
Their feet are their only mode of transportation… and to think… these children are suffering from disease and injury on a regular basis because they lack something that we, here in America, take so easily for granted: a pair of shoes.
As I have continued to prepare for my 11-month mission trip, God has continued to humble me and show me how blessed I am… giving me more and more reason to go out and freely give as I have been given [both physically and spiritually].
Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. Matthew 10:8

I am STILL raising support for my mission trip and know that I cannot go and be the hands and feet apart from YOUR HELP!
I am seeking both one-time donations and monthly [for 11 months] supporters…
I truly believe that just because God has not called you to serve in the same capacity as me, that He may be calling you to serve in a different and equally important way… as I’ve said in the past…

Just like in a relay line of men trying to put out a fire, the man at one end of the line scooping water into the bucket is EQUALLY as important as the one at the other end of the line pouring the water directly onto the flames…
one cannot do his part without the other 🙂
