Hi y’all! I am so excited to share with you that I will be going on The World Race Gap Year!
For those of you that do not know what this means, it means that I will be setting out on a nine month mission trip in September of 2018! My route includes Thailand, Malaysia, Costa Rica, and Ecuador. I am so excited to be able to share the joy and love I have found in the Lord with the world and hope that you will share this excitement with me as well!
When I had first heard about The World Race I would never have imagined that it would be something for me, especially since I have never been on a mission trip before. I kept telling myself that “someone else could do so much better than I could,” so when I had begun to apply for colleges I put the thought of applying for the Gap Year program in the back of my mind. Throughout my college search I felt a pull on my heart to take another look at The World Race and eventually began my application, praying constantly about all of it. In the process of applying, I felt like the Lord was just reminding me of the fact that the joy he has given me is not meant to be kept to myself and that His plan for me is so much greater than anything I could ever imagine. I finally finished my application and simply let God handle the rest praying that His will be done in my life. When I heard that I was accepted I could not contain the joy I was filled with and everyday since then I have constantly been reminded of Isaiah 6:8(NIV) “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!'”
So here I am, saying “Lord send me.”
There is a long road ahead but I have no doubt in my mind that this is what God has called me to do and that he will provide the means to get there. I am so excited to share with you this journey as well as my heart. God is so good!
