Hello all!

A little bit about me…

I am 22 and just recently graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a major in Kinesiology and focus in Health Promotion. I chose health promotion because I have a huge passion for helping others live a healthy, active and fulfilling life. I believe that God instilled this passion in me to be used for His work which is why discovering the World Race was an answer to a life long prayer.  I cannot image a more perfect job for me than to be out there in the world helping those who need it most and spreading the word of God to areas where His name has yet to be heard.

Some less serious, but still important things about me:

  • I'm in love with food. Great food, the kind where you can taste the hard work and thought that went into it, makes me so, so very happy.
  • ^ This also feeds my infatuation of all things Anthony Bourdain. If you don't know who he is, you should. And if you do – good on ya.
  • If I'm ever in a bad mood show me a picture of a puppy. Or any cute animal for that matter, preferably talking in british accents or dancing = Insta-cheer up.
  • I'm the slowest eater you'll ever come across. Also, I sometimes hum when I eat. You'll get used to it.
  • I'm a very social person.
  • My family and friends are the most important things in my life – I'd do anything for them.
  • My birthday is October 13th, and yes – I was born on a Friday the 13th, but no – I am not at all superstitious.
  • I have an odd obsession with scarves. Maybe if you're lucky one day I will reveal just how many I own.
  • I like Indie music, classic rock, and recently discovered a predilection towards french music. I love going to music festivals and the fact that I will be missing Austin City Limits the next two years is a sore subject, but just one of the many things I'm happy to give up in order to serve.

Like I said, I'm a very social person; I love getting to know new people and experiencing all that God has to show me.  The joy and excitement I have in my heart for this trip is indescribable and I would love nothing more than to tell you more about it if you're interested to know.  I really really appreciate all the support and prayers, thank you all and God Bless!
