This is a story of redemption:
Once upon a time, I was a child. While I was a child, I was in elementary school. While in school, I was chosen as a potential candidate for the special, creative, route of learning. So one day a teacher brought me into a room and asked me a lot of questions to test my creativity such as: "How many circles do you see in the room?"… "How would you use the objects in this room to build a ship?"…etc. etc. By the end of the hour of questions, I asked if I passed the test and could be moved up to the special, advanced placement classes. The teacher had a somber look on her face, and told me that sadly no, I passed all the other questions, but only found 20 circles in the room and the requirement was 25.
Ever since then when I attempt to be creative, I've subconsciously remembered those circles, and allowed the enemy to whisper lies to me that I'm not creative, because that lady said so. If I only would have found those extra 5 circles, then, and only then could I be creative now.
A couple of days ago, Jesus woke me up with this memory replaying in my mind. He took me on a trip through my past and showed me how many times I used this story to be the stopping force of my creativity. He revealed to me how it is a lie, and one that makes him sad because He made me to be creative, goofy, and unique. And I am creative! I believe it now. Why?
Because God is the ultimate storyteller; the master-mind behind all the crazy, beautifully creative things on earth and in heaven.
And I most definitely have Jesus inside of me!!
