Hello! Whether you are family, a friend, or a random stranger who stumbled upon my blog: welcome!

My name is Alexa Baratucci, a girl with a serious case of wanderlust and a passionate love for Christ.

I am currently a graduating senior from The Ohio State University, graduating in May 2018 with a degree in Environmental Engineering. I have always been fascinated by the innerworkings of various machinery and processes. More recently however, I discovered my passion for the outdoors and decided to modify my degree to include protecting the wild, beautiful natural world. After the Race, I hope to work in sustainable infrastructure and green design!

I have one younger brother, Nick (20), who also is in the College of Engineering at Ohio State. He is one of my dearest friends, and we enjoy exploring unknown places and top-rated restaurants together.

Some of my favorite things in life include: trail running with no shoes on, waking up at 6am to hike for a fantastic sunrise view, rock climbing (in the gym or in state parks), camping in the Appalachian Mountains, basically any activity having to do with water, outdoor showers in beachfront homes, hipster coffee shops, thrifting for all my clothes, doggos and puppers of all shapes and sizes (shoutout to my Chicco!), backpacking in foreign countries, the Motherland (Italy) and all its food, and the Brat Pack movies.

I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and could talk for hours about my favorite communities there. (#CLEpride) However, I also have a deep love for Chapel Hill, North Carolina, because some of my closest family that lives there. I have more Tar Heels gear than Buckeye gear and visit my family frequently; which at first, causes most people to think I am from Chapel Hill. I definitely would like to live there some day, because what can beat a state with cities, beaches, mountains, and forests?!

I love living out of a backpack and exploring new places. As of right now, I have been to 14 countries: Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Italy, the Vatican City, France, Belgium, Holland, Spain and Portugal.

I am passionate building relationships with people, and intentionally learning about their story. This has been cultivated by my involvement with RealLife (Cru at Ohio State) and the absolutely incredible friends I have made through it.

This is just a little bit about me. To follow along, subscribe to my blog! (www.alexabaratucci.theworldrace.org) You can read about how God called me to missions and why I’m going on the World Race. Thank you so much for reading, and I hope you would prayerfully consider supporting me on my World Race journey!
