Hey Everyone!

I am so excited and thankful for this opportunity to travel and share the Gospel with people around the world. I cannot wait to see what God has in store for me and my team over the next year!

Some basic facts about me:

  • My full name is Alexandria, but I typically go by Alex.
  • I love Jesus!!
  • I am currently 21 years old, and I will be 22 when I leave for the Race. I was born on April Fool's Days, so no one ever believes me when I tell them its my birthday.
  • I am from New Bern which is a small town in eastern North Carolina. Fun facts about New Bern — Pepsi was invented there and Nicholas Sparks lives there.
  • I will be graduating in May from Meredith College with a degree in Exercise and Sport Science with a concentration in Health and Wellness. For those of you who haven't heard of it, Meredith is a women's college…yes, I go to an all girls school…yes, it is weird sometimes.
  • I love sports and I play on the softball team at Meredith.
  • I have a wonderful family! I have two loving and supportive parents who have always been there for me. They are both strong Christians who have tried to instill Christ-like values in me from the beginning. I also have one older brother, Adam, and a sister-in-law named Kristen.

  • I have the best best friend in the entire world. I know that everyone says that, but I think I win. Megan is the sister I never had and has been there for me through thick and thin.
  • I love to read. I can sit down and read an entire book in one sitting if it really interests me.
  • I might be addicted to watching the Food Network. I really enjoy cooking and baking as well.
  • I may also be addicted to coffee. My parents gave me a Keruig a few months ago and it's probably the best gift I have ever received.
  • I studied abroad for a semester in Australia my sophomore year and would LOVE to go back.
  • I am completely blown away by how much God has changed me since I decided to surrender my life to Him. I'm sure I will write about my testimony in depth later, so for now I will just say that Jesus has rescued me from a dark and painful past.
  • I NEVER thought I would be a missionary, until about a month ago when God convinced me that this is what He wants me to do. I had fully indended on applying to Physical Therapy schools for next year and I completely filled out my applications. Then a few weeks before they were due, I discoverd the World Race. I never submitted any PT applications.

I am so glad that you visited my blog and I hope that you will follow me throughout this journey. I ask that you please pray for me and for my team as we set out to serve people around the world.
