My sister went on the World Race last year and she had the wonderful idea of blogging 50 things about herself for her team to read… So I stole it. So, since I haven’t met any of you yet, here are 50 things about me!
1) I love public speaking.
2) Chick-Fil-A is my favorite fast-food restaurant in the world. It’s anointed.
3) When I was 5, I broke my arm while trying to act like the elephants at the circus that stand on those big balls… except I was trying to stand on a kick ball…
4) When I was 7, I broke my wrist jumping on giant tires on the playground at my school.
5) Earlier on the day I broke my arm, my sister Anna and I were playing hospital and she put my arm in a sling as if it were broken… The day I broke my wrist, she was at the playground and warned me, “If you break your wrist, don’t come crying to me!” The woman is a prophetess.
6) My uncle Jeff is a partner in the company that designed the world’s tallest building, The Burj Khalifa.
7) I have been to 8 countries- Tahiti, Kenya, Romania, St. Thomas, France, St. Marteen, Dominican Republic, and Holland… Well, I went to Holland’s airport.
8) I have very good friends from countries such as Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Kenya, and France whom I have gotten to know because of exchange student programs!
9) I live in a town of around 3,000 people, but we have the largest National Military Park in the United States- The Chickamauga Battlefield… We are big time, people.
10) My dad was in the military for 30 years, retired two years ago, but is currently out of the country doing work he is only qualified for because he was in the military.
11) I go to a non-private school where I can’t walk on the grass, dye my hair an “unnatural” color, can’t have facial hair, can’t have body piercings (except girls can have earrings), and, I must have my shirt tucked in, my hair above my eyebrows and collar, wear a belt, and ALWAYS wear socks… the last one really gets me.
12) Despite the strict rules, I love my school and wonderful teachers.
13) My sister, Allyson, went on the World Race last year.
14) My brother, Andrew, works in NYC.
15) My brother and oldest sister both graduated from the University of Georgia, and my sister Anna is currently studying there… And I’m like, “I’m going on the World Race Gap Year…”
16) I have met Mark Richt on multiple occasions, I’ve even been to his house. GO DAWGS!
17) I stood three inches from Louie Giglio as he passed by after his opening message at Passion 2014. I stood frozen, not wanting to disturb him, while my friend, Dylan, runs up to him and practically tackles him…
18) My sister, Anna, once told me that water from the faucet came from the sewer. Right after I drank it. (I was like 5, so I believed her).
19) I sat front row at the Multiply Conference in 2012, about ten feet from Francis Chan and David Platt.
20) My top three favorite theologians/pastors are Charles Spurgeon, John Piper, and David Platt in no particular order.
21) One time, Andrea Barber, the girl who played Kimmy Gibbler on Full House, TWEETED me!
22) Last semester, I took dual enrollment English, and I had the greatest teacher in the world- Mandy Jones!
23) I have a picture with Tedashii and a picture of LeCrae signing my shirt. If you don’t know who they are, LOOK THEM UP!
24) When I was 6, I was run over by a boat. Luckily it was a Catamaran, so I didn’t die. Or get hurt.
25) My Uncle Jeff has a picture with Owen Wilson from a party at Will Smith’s house…
26) I have a passion for Biblical truth.
27) I LOVE talking Bible… Doctrine, Old Testament, New Testament, what Jesus is teaching you- EVERYTHING!
28) My youth pastor is approximately 7 feet tall. More like 6’5″… but he’s tall…
29) My parents met at Carson-Newman College where they were cheerleading partners.
30) I work at the best restaurant in NW Georgia, The Smokehouse.
31) I am the captain of my High School’s FCA huddle.
32) My sister, Allyson, was a cheerleader at the University of Georgia.
33) When I was 2, I mooned an umpire because he picked up the ball that I was trying to get.
34) My mom taught me 7th grade math. She still teaches at the middle school I went to!
35) Gran, my grandmother on my dad’s side, has gone to the same Church since she was born. She is 87.
36) My town has a festival every year called “Down Home Days.” It’s the most redneck thing I have ever been to. We have a parade of tractors, horses, and ATVs.
37) Speaking of ATVs, I flipped one backwards once and it landed inches from my head.
38) I go to an inner city ministry on Saturdays called WoW kids. I love the kids there. It’s going to be hard to leave them, but I will be back!
39) I have THE MOST talented friends in the world- fashion designers, worship leaders, cross country stars, basketball stars, amazing speakers/teachers- and they all do it for the glory of God.
40) Jesus saved one of my friend’s from Sweden when he was here last year during an exchange student program.
41) Hillsong United is one of my favorite bands.
42) I have a hard time finishing books. But I hate not finishing books.
43) Grandmom, my grandmother on my mom’s side, gives the best Christmas cards known to man.
44) I am In It To End It.
45) My high score on flappy bird is 28…. so we probably can’t date.
46) When I was in Tahiti last Christmas, my brother took me wave running, and we got caught in an absolute downpour a few miles from where we left. I had no glasses on, and our guide decided to go 500 miles an hour on the way back. I couldn’t tell if I was driving through the rain, or if Chuck Norris and Jet Li were throwing Ninja stars at me. I have never prayed so hard in my life.
47) I plan to attend the college at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary when I get back from the WR Gap Year. But, who knows where God will take me!
48) I love blasting Christian rap music in my truck everywhere I go.
49) I can’t wait to go on the World Race Gap Year!
50) My favorite verses are Isaiah 61:1 and 1 Peter 2:9!
