What are two things I never thought I would do?

1. never in a million years did I think that I would be sitting in front of my computer blogging.

2. never in a million years did I think that I would embark an a nine month adventure to three different countries.

Yet here I am doing both of those things and I couldn’t be more excited.

Before you embark on this adventure with me, there are a few things that you should you know! My name is Alex LeVasseur, I’m 18 years old, and I’m from America’s Coolest Smallest town, Lititz. Technically, Lititz was honored with this title in 2013 but that no one in our town seems to have forgotten this is a little insight into the quaintness of Lititz. I have an amazing community of family, friends, and mentors who are constantly elevating me to reach my fullest potential.

My journey with Jesus begins a little later in life. It wasn’t until my sophomore year of high school until the Lord and I REALLY got to know one another. During the separation of my parents, he was my rock. Over the past few years, I have strengthened my faith in ways I didn’t know possible. Along this faith journey, I read a verse that has stuck with me. Esther 4:14 “What if, perhaps you were made for such a time as this.” So how does the verse relate to my life?

Well, great question and I’m so glad you asked! It was this past October when I received a call from World Race. Something about this just felt right. So then I thought, “what if, perhaps I was made for such a time as this.” After much prayer, I am certain this is what I’m called to do. No longer do I consider college right after high school a practical decision for my life. God has given me this calling, and ignoring it would be impractical and frankly it would be a shame.

So here’s to the next chapter, three countries in nine months. Here’s to a new adventure, a changing heart, and a new me.
