HEY EVERYONE!

My name is Alexander Jones and you can call me Alex or Jonesy. I am a brother, son, grandson, uncle, godfather, and luckily a friend to many people in my life and I’m blessed for that. Not once do I take any of those people whom I’m close too in my life for granted. I’m a son to two loving parents and a brother to three older sisters, all of which are happily married. I also have five adorable nieces and nephews, one of which is my godson. I grew up in a Christian home where my family supported me and loved me unconditionally in everything I’ve done up to this point in life.

I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio where I lived for nineteen years. There I graduated from St. Xavier High School and played on the golf team while attending school. After graduating from high school I attended Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina. There I spent four years studying business with a concentration in professional golf management to become a class A PGA golf professional. While in college, I completed internships at The Vineyard Club, Bethpage State Park, Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, and Hidden Creek Golf Club. In addition to be blessed to have completed four prestigious internships, I also walked onto the Methodist University men’s golf team for the 2012-2013 season.

I graduated from Methodist University in 2014 and became a class A member of the Professional Golfers Association of America in March 2015. After I graduated from college, I worked at the Chevy Chase Club just outside Washington D.C. There I worked as a full time golf professional from October 2014 through October 2015 working with golf shop merchandising, helping to run tournaments, and teaching golf as well.

In addition to golf being a part of my life, another passion that I have has always been mission work and helping others out. In high school, I was fortunate enough to be apart of four M-Fuge mission trips to multiple cities in the United States. I worked in two different departments which were recreation and construction. We would minister to kids in recreation centers by playing games and sports with them while also spreading the word of Christ while having fun. In addition, I also worked construction by helping to rebuild homes that needed repair in those cities. I have also traveled twice on separate occasions to Haiti while in college. There we helped rebuild a home for an individual family on my first trip in 2014. In January 2015, we helped rebuild an administrative building for a church. In addition, we also did door to door ministry and children’s ministry to the children who lived in the surrounding town. It was after my second trip to Haiti that one of my solid friends from college sent me the link about the World Race. He thought I wasn’t living my life fully enough for Christ at the time, but knew I had a huge heart for missions and I agreed with him. I watched the video associated with the link and knew that The World Race was something God called me to go on.

There is a HUGE YES in my spirit because the Lord has given me new hopes and new desires in life. My dream for my life is to never feel comfortable because I don’t want to feel “I’ve made it in life, now I can relax”. I want to have God use my story in whatever situation/occupation He puts me in in the future, so His name will be heard and seeds will be planted.

My hopes for The World Race are that we are able to break down walls in countries who have never heard the name of Jesus. I hope we are able to break away the walls around people’s hearts as well. In addition, I have hope for my squad that we are able to be completely lost in His love and completely intimate with Him because our relationships with the Lord need to be strong. Please continue to keep my squad and I in your prayers!

God Bless,

Alexander Jones
