What am I doing this month in India? Well I’m glad you asked!
This month, my team is working with India Christian Ministries (ICM) in Andhra Pradesh, India (http://www.indiachristianministries.org). ICM is a huge organization that does everything from church planting to a children’s’ homes and its growing extremely fast. We have been asked to help them with social media (video making, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) in order to get people outside of Andhra Pradesh excited and willing to aid their ministry.
In order to make the videos they want and have pictures for their social media, we have to go into the villages where ICM is active. And in order to do that we have to travel at least an hour away from ICM headquarters to follow pastors around for the day. When I say the day, I mean 8-10 hours of prayer, worship, sermons, travel from church to church, and interviewing them in the down time. It is a long, exhausting day and I have no idea where these Indian pastors get the energy to do it day in and day out.
We have gotten to see such a unique side of the church here in India. The people are so hungry for the Lord to work in their lives. The Holy Spirit moves during the worship services and sermons in a way that is different from any other country I have been to. It is so encouraging to see how believers here are so passionate for God, especially in the face of the Islamic and Hindu majority.
Now that we have workdays back at ICM headquarters, we are compiling the footage to make short clips about the life of a church planter and the different types of churches, among others. I’m really excited to see what God has in store this month and I’m hoping he will get my creative juices flowing quickly!
