*Update: As of today, June 9th Carrie is now at nearly $10,000. Thank you so much for your support and prayers. So I’ve changed some of the below blog to turn all support to Stephanie right now. Hopefully it all makes sense.*
My 8 days of training are over, and despite how long it felt they were 8 of the greatest days of my life. Great things happened and there’s some pretty big news to pass along, but I’m pretty exhausted and I’m going to write all about camp hopefully tomorrow. Right now I have something important to ask of you. So important I haven’t seen the series finales of Lost or 24, have them on my Tivo, and I’m writing this instead.
I have been wonderfully supported by some wonderful people, and God has
blessed me with nearly $11,000 already which is short of my total goal,
but well above what I need to leave and my next deadline of only $11,500 is
over 3 months away. This week I found out my team: the 6 other
individuals I will live
in community with every day. We’ve only known each other as a
team for a few days, but I’m honestly already crazy in love with each
and every one of them and can’t wait to spend a year with them and
see how God works through us.
However, some of my teammates need some more support to be able to share
this year with us. Proving God has a sense of humor, I was selected as my team’s leader and as leader of this unbelievable group I
refuse to let money get in the way of any of my teammates not enjoying
a full 11 months with us on the field. So I’m asking for everyone to
temporarily stop giving me money and help my teammates instead.
If you haven’t donated to me yet and had planned to I ask you instead
split that donation and send it to them. If you’ve already donated to
me I ask for your prayers of support and if you feel able, to offer
them additional monetary support for them as well. I urge you to check out their Web sites (and their sites’ donation tabs) to read more about them:

Yes, you don’t know them, but you know me and I’ve already seen they’re wonderful women in love with God, and I want nothing more than for their support accounts to be filled. I refuse to think what this trip would be without them. It would be a gift and honor to me to have you donate to them. Seriously, I want to check my support account the next few weeks and see nothing new added to it until they’re ready to go.
So thank you for all you have already done for me and continue to do. I’m absolutely blessed and excited to see these blessings spill over to others. Don’t be shy to spread this news. Let’s see help come from all over. I’ll post soon about the amazing week that just was.
*I had the question e-mailed to me today asking how to contribute to my
teammates via the check option. In case anybody else needs this
information here it is.*
