It feels unsettling to realize my last blog post was over two months ago. By no stretch of the imagination could I say that it feels like that much time has passed. 2 months down, 4 1/2 to go until launch, even less until training camp. If these past months are any indication, I should be boarding a plane for launch tomorrow.

These last two months aren’t a total blur. I’ve spent the majority of the evenings over the last few weeks really getting to know my squadmates. I’ve learned they are some of the most encouraging, loving, awesome, godly people around. I’m truly amazed at the amount of openness, honesty, and Christ’s love that’s capable of being shared through an internet connection. It’s been very encouraging to know I can talk to people that are going against the same spiritual warfare, the same fears of training camp/the race, and who are experiencing the same impatience with raising support.

Financially I’m about 1/24 of the way to completely meeting my goal, and about 1/5 of the way to my first fundraising deadline on October 1st. In my experience, fundraising has been an extremely slow process. The next 6 weeks are gonna fly by, so I’ve been really praying that God have floods of support start coming in and that He start to motivate people to donate. Throughout this, I haven’t ever felt like God wouldn’t provide, but just a real test of patience when it comes to being on His time. Please pray with me that support will come in, and that I will seek Him for patience always. I’m in the process of planning a fundraising event with food, silent auctions/raffles, and some quality friendship time, so be expecting more details on that in the near future.

I’ll leave you with a photo of my team bonding on Skype. It’s one of my favorites.
