This month is very different from the last in an abundance of ways. Instead of having a ministry host that we’re partnered with for the month, we are on a mission to find new contacts. This finding of new contacts is called Unsung Heroes. My team and I are searching for organizations and individuals that are kingdom minded and are interested in partnering with Adventures in Missions.

Throughout this month my team and I are relying fully on the Holy Spirit to guide our every steps. When people ask us what our plan is for the month, all that we can honestly say is that we don’t have one. Wherever the Holy Spirit wants to take us is where we will go. He has most definitely been providing thus far. Here are a few of the ways that the Holy Spirit has provided:

Arriving in Botswana at the bus stop we were greeted by a man that took us to the Youth For Christ (YFC) staff house. This house is for missionaries that are partnered with YFC and yet they willingly and graciously took us in. Living in the house with us are two missionaries, Ember and Kelsey. Ember has been in Botswana for 6 years and just celebrated that anniversary the 16th. Kelsey is staying in Botswana for a year and just arrived in January. We were shocked to hear American accents when we pulled up to the house that night. Shocked and yet in a way very comforted.

They have welcomed us into their home and are allowing us to use it as a home base while searching for other contacts. Just the other day we took the bus into Gaborone in search of wifi to look up/email possible contacts. While there a woman saw two of my teammates walk out and she immediately began praying that we would come and talk to her. When they walked back into Wimpy she caught their attention and told them that she is a pastor and currently running an orphanage. The Lord definitely put her in that restaurant the same exact time as us. We had a wonderful conversation with her and will be visiting the Orphanage on Monday.

It’s amazing to see the Lord work and how he put’s people into our paths. On one of the bus rides between countries I was split from my team and had to sit with a stranger. She was a young woman of 19 and studying drama/theatre at the local university. We went through the typical small talk and then as the ride went on we began to have a deeper conversation about the Lord. Her and two of her friends lead a Bible study and prayer time together each week. It was so great to get to know her and have a deep intellectual conversation about the Father. I believe that the Lord placed her beside me on that bus ride so that we could encourage and breathe life into one another.

The Lord has a divine plan for the way that He places people into our lives. All we have to do is listen to the Holy Spirit for His plan. I look forward to the rest of this month and the growth that I hope to experience as I rely on the Holy Spirit.

I am currently fasting WiFi (Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, email, etc.) for a time. I want to be absolutely in tune with the Holy Spirit and not be distracted by the world. This month requires a lot of WiFi usage in researching possible contacts; therefore, I am using the internet but only for that purpose. It has been challenging but I know that it is something that I am feeling led to do. I am doing well and I look forward to the emails, snap chats, and messages when I do end the fast.

Blessings and much love to you all!
