As a Girl Scout for many years, I have raised financial support for my troop by selling hundreds of girl scout cookies. Many of my neighbors and friends anxiously awaited the sale of cookies and always encouraged me to come back the next year. Some individuals even asked if I had extra boxes that they could buy; seeing as how there already ten boxes of cookies were just not enough!
I’ve been thinking of how best to raise the financial support for this trip and I was thinking: If only people loved Jesus and helping others as much as those Girl Scout cookies I would be awfully close to being fully funded! I would most definietly have enough to meet my first financial deadline, which is rapidly approaching. Wouldn’t it be amazing if people actively saught out missionaries to support with as much enthusiasm as searching for those extra boxes of Girl Scout cookies?
Girl Scout cookies are delicious and fulfill that physical craving of something sweet, but do you know what Jesus fulfills? He can not only fulfill our physical needs but our spiritual need. I love those Thin Mints, but those cookies aren’t going to get me into heaven. It’s not a trade of cookies for heaven at the entrance gate. It’s about dying to yourself and letting God take over the controls. Asking Him into your heart and activley searching for new ways to serve and honor Him.
I want to serve the Lord and be His hands and feet this coming year, but I can’t do that without your partnership. Are you interested in giving up those ten boxes of Girl Scout cookies? You can partner with me on this journey and spread God’s hope and love to eleven different countries. Together, we can further God’s Kingdom and gain brothers and sisters in Christ.
“We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him? Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.” 1 John 3:16-18
I thank you for your continued prayer and encouragement throughout this journey!
Blessings!
