11 countries… 11 months… roughly 330 days of the unknown.
I would be lying if I were to say I know exactly what I'm "getting myself into" on the World Race. And if I've learned anything over the years it's to always expect the unexpected. So that's exactly what I plan on doing. I plan on having very few expectations, because God works in mysterious, wonderful, unexpected ways.
But here is a list of 11 things I hope happen along this journey…
- I hope to meet people in some of the darkest parts of that world and be a light to them.
- I hope to be a blessing.
- I hope to be blessed.
- I hope to build lasting relationships with the members on my team/squad.
- I hope to capture a million memories.
- I hope to be broken.
- I hope to talk, laugh, and even cry with the people I meet along the way, as we share our stories with one another, and I hope to show them our Father's love for them.
- I hope to lose sight of worldly things.
- I hope to overcome my fear of bugs!
- I hope to smile, dance, and rejoice when the lost become found.
- I hope to change, and be changed.
"This is what God the LORD says-he who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and all that comes out of it, who gives breath to its people, and life to those who walk on it: "I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles, to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness."" (Isaiah 42:5-7)
