We are the plan of God. There is no plan B.”-David Platt

I recently finished reading Radical, by David Platt.

In his book, Platt writes about how God has created us, as Christians, for a global purpose. Here are a few quotes that struck home with me while reading:

“Jesus himself has not merely called us to go to all nations; he has created us and commanded us to go to all nations.”

“Every saved person this side of heaven owes the gospel to every lost person this side of hell.”

“What if the very reason we have breath is because we have been saved for a global mission? And what if anything less than passionate involvement in global mission is actually selling God short by frustrating the very purpose for which he created us?”

“Exciting things happen when the people of God believe the Word of God is worth spending their lives to teach to others.”

“The will of God is for you and me to give our lives urgently and recklessly to making the gospel and the glory of God known among all peoples, particularly those who have never even heard of Jesus. The question, therefore, is not ‘Can we find God’s will?’ The question is ‘Will we obey God’s will?’”

These words hit me like a freight train. I already knew God was calling me to global missions (hence the World Race), but it never really registered with me that I am God’s plan. He doesn’t just have a plan for my life, but His plan is my life.

Let that sink in for a minute.

We are God’s plan.
We are plan A, and there is no plan B.

Talk about a humbling realization!

John 14:6 says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”

There is no other way. Jesus came to die so that we might know Him and live.
But how can the nations know Him if they haven’t heard of Him? (Romans 10:14)

That’s where you and I come into the plan.
We were created and are commanded to go.

Now more than ever I am confident in God’s will to use me to further His Kingdom. I’ve been tested and tried numerous times throughout the past year after being accepted for the Race, but time and time again God has assured me that it is His plan to use me. He has answered my question of “What is God’s will for my life,” and my answer to His question is “Yes, I will obey Your will.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10)
