Meet my Squad
We are S Squad or better known as the Sojourners.
These people are all living in an upside down kingdom, coming together as an upside down community, in this crazy world we live in created by God.
13 men + 27 women + 4 squad leaders + 4 coaches + 1 advisor + 1 logistic leader + 2 trainers + 1 squad mentor = MY PEOPLE As about 95% of us prepare to head out in January, we will be leaving all expectations behind so that we can LIVE WHAT WE BELIEVE!! Unified and ready to do whatever God calls us to do.
In this squad there are 6 teams. So let me introduce you to my team!!
Meet Papoula Fogo
Papoula Fogo is Portuguese for Fire Poppy.
The slips of paper we have in our hands is the scripture Matthew 15:13. Which says,
He answered, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be rooted up.”
This scripture applies to all the ladies in the picture above, including myself. If you read the rest of the passage (Matthew 15:10-20), it talks about how your heart needs to be right with God. And what I mean by that is, this world and our flesh is very good at planting not so good things inside of our hearts, so we have to draw near to Christ so that he can plant in our hearts only good things. That is why we chose a beautiful fire poppy as our team name. A fire poppy is a rare orange flower that blooms only after forest fires. We represent this flower because we are opening our hearts for God to uproot all the lies that have been planted in our hearts and replace them with beautiful truths.
