I don’t know about anyone else, but I have dreamed, I have planned, and I have wished for so many thing to happen in my life. This world teaches us that we are to go to school, graduate, go to college, graduate, get a job, get married, have a family, and BE HAPPY. And preferably in that order.

** SPOILER ALERT **

LIFE HAPPENS!!

You can plan all you want, but 9 times out of 10, those plans will not work out. You can dream the biggest dreams, but those dreams will not always come true. You can wish for the best and never receive it. If that doesn’t crush your hopes and dreams, I don’t know what will.

BUT GOD….(two of my favorite words in the Bible) IS HERE!!

Life may come to us as a surprise, but not to God. The more and more I allow life to happen, the more I realize that God has a plan. He has a plan and allows everything to work out according to his will. (Ephesians 1:11) The more I let life happen God’s way, the more I realize God is trying to tell me to be more flexible.

In case you didn’t know, I love movies and The Incredibles happens to be one of my favorites.

Now by no means am I saying don’t make plans or have dreams, because that would make for a not-so-fun life. I am just saying, in the end, we have no control over what God’s will is for our life. God is still giving me my hopes, dreams, and desires, but in a way that I would have never imagined. Proverbs 16:9 says:

“We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.”

God has a plan for our life, we need only to seek Him to find out that plan. (Jeremiah 29:11-13) If we seek God through prayer, reading the bible, and obeying Him; God will show up in our lives every day. And if God shows up every day then there is no need to worry about our hopes and dreams because He will provide for us. If the Holy Spirit is in us, then why don’t we let the Holy Spirit direct our life? Why don’t we give all our cares and concerns to Him?  Matthew 6:34 says:

“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”

I TRY not to worry about what tomorrow, or the next day, or what the next year will hold because I know that God is in control. The word try is capitalized because I do worry, but in the end, I know I need to rely on God because His will will prevail.

With that being said, I am ready and excited for this upcoming year. Am I nervous? Sure I am. But I am also ready. Ready to see what God has in store ministry wise but also ready to see how God is going to show up in my life. I am ready to be more flexible and grown in Christ!!

I have already been asked to be flexible by the World Race because they have already told us (my squad and myself) that our route has changed. Instead of going to Ukraine, we will be going to Portugal. That is just one example of an unexpected change that will occur in the upcoming year.

Our route for the next year will be:

Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, India, Nepal, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Romania, and Portugal.

Thank you to everyone who has already shown a tremendous amount of encouragement and support.
