“ADVENTURE IS OUT THERE!!”

Adventure is out there! — Steemit

Probably one of my favorite quotes from a pretty awesome movie – Up.

I have been holding onto these pictures and experiences for quite some time now. And I believe now is the time to share them.

The Christmas before I left, I was given a pair of socks that traveled with me throughout the entire 11 months with me.

On the Race, we were encouraged and pushed to fight for at least one “adventure day” a week. This was considered to be 1 of the 2 days we were given were told to have as off days from ministry. Of course as believers, we know that there is never an off day in God’s work. (We were also given another day off during each week to spend as a day of rest – Sabbeth.) Each country was different when it came to those days off, but I was able to experience an adventure in most countries, and I was able to document them in a way that made my heart happy. In a form of pictures.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!

Month 1 – Colombia

I was able to travel just a few hours outside of Medellin to a tourist town called Guatape. I was with a small group of girls from my squad, and we climbed all 649 steps to get to the top.

Month 2 – Ecuador

There is a volcano in Quito that is called La Pichincha. A small group of us decided to hike this volcano on one of our off days. It only took us a total of 6 hours to hike up and down. No biggie….

Month 3 – Peru

Peru is very much considered to be a desert area. Well, in places that is. So this month I was able to experience what they called sand boarding. Shoutout to Julie and Tabitha for going along.

Since I was unable to have an adventure day in Month 4. I like to claim my 5 days of travel from South America to Asia as my adventure day(s) for month 4.

This picture is taken in London just next to River Thames beside the London Bridge.

Month 5 – Nepal

Nepal had some of the best scenery. And this picture definitely shows that. My team and I were able to go white water rafting together and this picture was taken in the bus that took us rafting.

Month 6 – Rwanda

Roads in Rwanda were mostly dirt. Especially in the communities. Since my team and I walked to and from ministry every day, not only did my feet get a little bit of sun action, my feet also got a lot of quality time with dirt as well. Luckily I had a good teammate who wanted to wash and scrub everyone’s shoes and also an amazing lady who cooked for us and cared for us – feet included.

Month 7 – Uganda

This month I had the privilege of rafting the Nile. So this picture was taken just before we began our excursion.

Month 8 – Kenya

My one and only adventure in Kenya was well worth it. I was able to travel to Maasai Mara for a safari.

Month 9 – Ethiopia

Yep, the parents made it to Ethiopia with me. Which is kind of a big deal, especially since that was there first time to travel outside of the United States. We were able to do some ministry together and have a small little adventure together.

Month 10 – Romania

This picture was taken at Dracula’s Castle. Blah, Blah, Blah – Thanks to Nikki!!

Month 11 – Portugal & Spain

The last month of the Race, we were given the opportunity to walk/hike the El Camino. We started in Porto, Portugal and ended in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. Once the group I was with finished, we took a train to a beach town to relax in. The town had one of the oldest working ancient Roman lighthouse. One day, when it was too windy to even walk, we tried to visit this lighthouse.

I am thankful for all of the adventures I was able to have and will forever cherish each moment.

Shoutout to everyone who was crazy enough to capture each and every one of these photos for me!!!
