A few weeks ago, weight was lifted off my shoulders and placed on my heart was the simplicity of the Lord’s will for our lives. Love God. Love people. Share The Gospel. I heard move – to get a fresh perspective, prioritize what’s important to Him. A couple weeks later, I had applied and was accepted to travel with Adventure In Mission on their World Race: Semesters program. I get the opportunity to live and do ministry for 3 months in Thailand & Cambodia, starting at the end of January (less than 2 months)!!!
Adventures in Missions is an interdenominational missions organization that focuses on discipleship. It emphasizes prayer and relationships in work amongst the poor. They exist to mobilize a generation of radical Christ followers, discipling and training them to establish the Kingdom of God. They want Christians to follow in Jesus’s example in the way he cared for the lost and the hurting – to take up Jesus’s Commission to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28) and be his witness to the ends of the Earth (Acts 1).
My semester in Southeast Asia will kick off in Thailand, known for its stunning beaches, friendly people and bustling outdoor food markets. In Thailand, Semesters Racers typically spread the Gospel through teaching English and ministering to children. The second half of my semester will continue on to Cambodia, where I will partner with the ministry New Hope for Orphans. This incredible ministry serves 400 orphaned children throughout Cambodia. I will learn to share the Gospel with children through teaching English and leading Bible studies. I will also be trained in evangelism and outreach and participate in prayer walks throughout the city with local pastors.
My launch date is January 24, 2019. I need to raise $6,400 by January 17th. This will cover all travel expenses, insurance, and living expenses. That’s 64 people giving $100. Furthering the Kingdom and loving His people! I know the Lord has gone before me! I’m asking if you want to be apart of my journey???
