World Racers have their own collection of lingo.
You do you = stop being a baby/grow up
All the things = dramatic way of saying you’re too cool to elaborate
Your ish = your baggage/crap
I’ve been processing = I’m trying to handle my “ish” but am not having great success and I may or may not tell you about it
Take it to The Lord = I don’t have anything to say to that/go pray
Sometimes on the World Race… = an ice breaker used on social media to introduce a photograph or experience to excuse anything
How’d it go? = Were you lucky enough to poop? Do I need to feel jealous right now?
Ooooooh kay = Leave me alone/whatever
I hate it! = No thank-you/Ew
I don’t hate it. = I don’t want to flat out tell you I love it, so I’ll play cool and be “above it”
Even me = same
Same same = same
Want to have a 1on1? = Let’s hang out
Hey can we talk? = We are about to have an awkward conversation, so heads up.
I need to be intentional = I need to get off WiFi
Creating space = making the time for something relational/deep
What are the odds? = An invitation to participate in a dare that will become a legend.
Another term is “calling out the best” in people.
It’s what the kids these days use to describe intentional encouragement to help someone see their strengths, their goodness, their worth, their potential.
There are 62 days left until V Squad arrives home.
Part 2 of this blog is in anticipation of our next chapter.
Here’s to my squad, whom I have come to love and respect.
Calling out the best…
