I’m sorry it has taken so long to update my blog. Between our busy schedule and my computer no longer working I’ve not had the chance. God has been doing amazing things here in Panajachel! We were blessed with the oppourtunity to finish what others had begun. We finished building a home for a single mother and her four children, and an alter in a church that was destroyed during hurricane stan two years ago… It has been humbling to be able to do that.
Our contact is an amazing man of God and has been pouring into us so , as he puts it, “Will pour a 25 gallon barrel of gas to ingite the flame of the Spirit that is already burning.” It has been very challenging, yet as I see the faces of those we are serving and see how deep their love of God runs I am moved…. There is a line from a song that keeps rolling around in my mind, “How can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?”
To be around the people here and worshipping with them, I am blown away. THey dance, literally, and sing with passion I’ve seen maybe once. It is amazing. They are not concerned about what I may think, but they desire so deeply to praise the One who provides for them daily… the One who loves them so deeply…the One who saved them. I wish I could show you, but with having to use teammates computers, i can’t at the moment.. but it doesnt matter… I know you have probably felt joy like theirs, but more than likely, like me you have a hard time expressing it in church settings. Perhaps it would distract or something… or perhaps you would look foolish… I urge you to not worry about that. If you are standing in the presence of our Living God, and He is filling you with so much joy you want to dance, then dance! if He is moving you to shout for joy than do it!!! We serve an amazing God who Loves us and wants to be with us! why should we stand still?
The battery is running low on this computer, but I urge you to ask yourself the question, “How can I stand here with You, and not be moved by You?”…
I also ask that you bear with me as I probably won’t be able to post anything for a while… Life with out a computer is very difficult, as I ache to share with you in depth what God is doing…
