Team Ahava –

Ahava means “love” in Hebrew. The root word is “Hav” which means “to give”. The essence of this Hebrew word for love is “an act of giving rather than receiving”. My teammates and I chose this name because we want to be a team that shows sacrificial love to each other and the people around us. We want to value giving above receiving and we want to be people who reflect the kind of love that Jesus has for us; that He would give everything even though He knew He would receive nothing from us except death.

My team is made up of seven (including my team leader) lovely ladies besides myself.

First I’ll introduce you to Molly Miller –

One of the things I love about Molly is the vast amount of different facial expressions she has that she uses on the daily. She is spunky and loves and cares for our team so deeply and intentionally. Her blog is: mollymiller.theworldrace.org

Next is Hannah Hennings –

Hannah is such a kind soul who does a great job of checking up on me and making me feel loved and heard. Her heart for the Lord and her persistent pursuit of Him is so inspiring. Her blog is: hannahhennings.theworldrace.org

Madison Welton –

Madison is a ray of sunshine. Her smile lights up any room and is so contagious. She is so funny and is always making me laugh. She serves with such a cheerful heart and is so good at being intentional and checking up with me to see how I’m doing. Her blog is: madisonwelton.theworldrace.org

Adriana Churness –

This girl is the sweetest. She is always asking how I’m doing / feeling and is always finding a way to serve those around her. She is so selfless and giving and a true joy to love and know. I love listening to her Minnesotan accent and laughing at the way she pronounces “hamock” (we say ‘ham – UCK’, she says ‘ham – OCK’) and “bag” (she pronounces it ‘BEG’). I love it. Her blog is: adrianachurness.theworldrace.org

Taylor Morgan –

Taylor is crazy. Her love languages include jokes, roasts, and sarcasm. She has a huge heart for people and she brings so much joy and laughter to our team. It’s hard to be upset or feel anything but joy when Taylor is around and just being herself. Her blog is: taylormorgan.theworldrace.org

Alyson Weaver –

There really are no words to describe Alyson fully, but I’ll try. She’s like a firecracker that just doesn’t stop going off. She has an insane amount of energy and is the ultimate hype man. She loves so intentionally and exudes joy. Her excitement about the Lord and His goodness is so inspiring and beautiful. Her blog is: alysonweaver.theworldrace.org

My team leader, Liz Slager –

Liz is wild. She’s sassy and energetic and I think one of her favorite phrases is, “I’m not your mom or your therapist”. She loves deeply and thrives in the full freedom that Jesus gives. She is full of Godly wisdom and is truly a gift from the Lord. Unfortunately, Liz will be leaving us right after month 3 (at the end of our time in Malaysia) to head back home to Indiana. She is our alumni team leader and her job is to raise up one of us girls to become the next team leader to take her place. I’m still trying to figure out how I’m gonna survive the 6 months that will follow without having her around to freak out over my fashion “errors” (one time i didn’t have a belt so I wore a rope wrapped around my waist three times to hold up my pants and she was NOT having it) and be sarcastic with. Her blog is: lizslager.theworldrace.org

I am so blessed to have such an incredible team of Jesus loving girls who are able to have fun together, work together, and love each other. I can’t wait to continue to get to know each of them better and see how we grow as the months continue to fly by!

These girls are still working hard to raise the rest of the money they need to reach their fundraising goals (with the exception of Molly, Adriana, and Liz who have already reached their goals – WHOOP WHOOP) and I would love if you would consider following their journeys via their blogs and prayerfully consider donating to help them reach their goals!

Thank you all for your prayers for my team and I; they are MUCH appreciated!!
