Wanna Help Me Spread Some LOVE Around the World?
Hey guys and dolls – will you please help me make a
difference in places where people cannot help themselves?
Thanks for taking the time to check out my World Race blog! As many of you know, the two short-term mission trips I went on last year to Haiti and Nairobi, Kenya rocked my world! During those trips, my eyes and heart were opened to the dire needs of people in places where there's little-to-no opportunity for self-help or government aid. And after seeing so many heartbreaking situations, I feel called to go out and help do something about it. God's given me a heart for helping those who cannot help themselves – a heart for service. So… that has led me to this next chapter in my life – the World Race! I'm so excited for this amazing opportunity, but this will not happen without your help! So… I need you to team up with me and support me through prayer, encouragement and/or financial support.
WHAT I'LL BE DOING: So, here's the deal. As much as I enjoy my life in the US — my career, my friends and family and all that I get to do here (I am extremely blessed), I can no longer ignore the true emergencies out there in the world. Beginning in September 2011, I'll be on an 11-month-long mission trip, traveling to some of the poorest places in 11 different countries. During this time, I'll have a great opportunity to show love to the people I encounter through service and mere physical presence – to be the hands and feet of God and a beacon of hope to the oppressed. I'll be serving many different individuals (Gypsies, Orphans, Widows, Prostitutes, Innocent Girls forced into Sex Trafficking, and the Sick, Poor, Broken and Lost) in many different ways. No doubt this journey will be vastly transformational!
HOW YOU CAN HELP: There are multiple ways you can help (and each way is equally important): 1) prayer – that God brings in the financial support and continues to give me the strength and courage to take this leap of faith, 2) words of encouragement, and 3) financial support. The total cost of the World Race is $14,800, which covers my flights, lodging and food for 11 months. We will be living like the locals wherever we travel to so expenses are less than what they would be to live in the US since we will be living in some of the poorest parts of the World. However…. in order to make this happen, I will not be able to earn a salary during this time, so that means I really do NEED your help! When is Money Due?
Below are the deadlines for having money in my WORLD RACE account. I already have the amounts in GREEN.
I still NEED $5,300!
$150 Deposit – by 5/1/2011 (2 weeks after acceptance.)
$3,000 – by 6/18/2011 (2 weeks before Training Camp)
$6,000 – by 8/18/2011 (2 weeks prior to trip)
$10,500 – by 12/1/2011 (3 months on the field)
$14,800 – by 3/1/2012 (6 months on the field)
If EVERYONE I know contributes what they can, I could have my entire trip fully funded by September 7th (the day I leave.) No amount is too small ($25, $50, $100)!
