This time next week I’ll be 27 years old!
So since this is my last week as a 26 year old, I wanted to reflect on all God’s done this past year and look forward to what is to come.
I can’t believe how quickly the year has flown by, I am starting to realize that the older I get the faster time seems to pass by. I can honestly say that 26 has been good to me. It has been a year of continued healing and growth. It has been a year of stepping out of my comfort zone. It has been of year of developing and growing friendships. It has been the year that I felt called into missions!
It wasn’t always easy but oh has it been fun. I feel the happiest and most content I’ve ever been. I have learned to be and do the things that make me happy. I am at peace with where I am in my life and am no longer worried about timelines. I don’t believe I have to meet the man of my dreams or be married with kids by a certain age. I have learned to let go of my plans and embrace the life and adventure that God has in store for me. I am standing firm in my beliefs and convictions and fully trust that His ways are higher than my ways and His plans are far better and greater than any of mine.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord . “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
As I get ready to step into 27, I’m excited to think about all that this new birthday will bring. I will get to travel to 10 different countries, I’ll be exposed to new places and cultures, and I’ll make so many new friends from around the country and the world! It will definitely be the year of a lifetime and while I am excited I am also nervous and slightly sad of everything I’m temporarily leaving behind: friends, family, church, my job, my gym, my comfort, and security. But God! I know that He has called me and wants to do something new in me. I am anticipating deeper connection with Him and spiritual growth and maturity. I know I will be a different person in all aspects and just to think that this time next year I’ll be getting ready to celebrate 28 in Mongolia is pretty cool!!
Prayer Requests:
- For the Lord to prepare my heart not only for this trip but for training camp which I leave for next Sunday!
- For continued support and to meet 2nd fundraising goal ahead of schedule.
P.S. If you’d like to celebrate my birthday please don’t get me anything and instead donate to my trip, it would mean the world and be better than any gift!
