Today marks 30 days since I headed to Georgia for launch and I can hardly believe that an entire month has already flown by! This month has been nothing like what I thought it would look like but it has been exactly what I needed.

HIGHLIGHTS:

It has been a month of great love and growth. We have been not only been able to share love with strangers but we’ve grown in love within our team and our squad.

It has been a month of surrender and of learning dependence, not just of the Lord but of each other.

It has been a month of many steps (especially on the Camino), many laughs, and even a few tears!

It has been a month of learning to live in community and how to operate as the body of Christ.

It has been a month of ordinary things like cooking and cleaning, doing laundry, and grocery shopping.

AND it has been a month of extraordinary things like praying BIG prayers and seeing the Lord’s faithfulness, provision, and healing.

I believe this month has set the foundation for how we will operate for the remainder of our journey. My hope and my prayer is that months 2 through 11 will build on this and that we would continue seeking: love, wisdom, trust, growth, and freedom in the Lord.

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

We have transitioned from Spain into a closed country. Due to safety and security issues in nations where the Gospel of Jesus Christ is outlawed, I will not be sharing specifics about where we are or what we are doing.

Our desire is to bless and encourage believers and long term missionaries in this country and not to endanger them or their families in any way. In an effort to do that I urge you not to comment or mention where I am (as many of you actually know) and to join us in faithfully praying for our brothers and sisters in Christ who are risking daily persecution and even their lives for their beliefs.

INSIGHTS:

  • Not speaking the language in a country makes communication HARD but not IMPOSSIBLE!
  • Love, kindness, and generosity have no language and can be shared non verbally.
  • Homemade tea is one of my new favorite things. It is usually poured from up high to create bubbles in the glass. What the purpose of the bubbles are, I still don’t know but it’s a cool sight to see!
  • It’s okay to be vulnerable and open up when you are struggling with something. Chances are someone else is feeling the same way and can be a listening ear and comfort.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

  • For North Africa and the friendships and connections we’re developing here.
  • That the Lord would use us to speak life, love, and freedom to our Muslim friends.
  • That my teammate Haley & I will be FULLY funded soon…I only have less than $5,000 to go! God is SERIOUSLY AMAZING and ABLE!
  • For our team “The Fierce Five” and specifically our team leader Carla as we celebrate her 28th birthday tomorrow ????

Thank you for your continued love, support, and prayer! If there is anything that I can be praying for you please don’t hesitate to let me know.
