It's month 8 of the Race and my team and I are staying at pastor Moses' house. We are living in this house with Moses, his wife (who we call "Mom") and 7 kids. The boys have their own room and so do the girls.

We have 2 squatty potties that we can use during the day. However, we are locked in our house at night (for security reasons, I think), so if we have to pee we get to use this green bucket ๐ As usual, we have another bucket shower this month!

My personal favorite part about living with pastor Moses is that they have a goat! His name is Billy Goat, and a previous World Race team bought him for Moses earlier this year. He acts exactly like a dog — he is chill, he lets you pet him, and he loves being scratched behind his ears. Every day he is taken to a field nearby so he can graze on the grass. I like to go and get him after dinner and walk him home because he acts just like a dog — he is so excited to go home that he practically runs home!

"Mom" makes us meals every day. The team loves her chapati! We even learned how to make it with her. The best meal I've had whilst we have been here is mashed potatoes, chapati and peas. The peas are in some sort of curry-like sauce, so they are super delicious. We may be eating a lot of carbs this month, but it's totally worth the gain in the waist line ๐
One interesting thing is that it is fairly cool here. It rains almost every day. I never thought I would be in Africa and be cold, but I am! (Sorry mom, there are no big thunderstorms here. Just rain!)
We have done 3 basic types of ministry this month: go to schools and teach, go to the local hospital/clinic to pray for people, and evangelize. My personal favorite has been evangelizing because of the relationship I have formed with a lady named Grace. She is 27 years old, is married and has 4 kids. Her husband is 25 miles away from Wobulenzi working, but I do not know when he will return back home (he has been gone working for some time; sometimes he is gone for 2-3 months at a time). Grace has not yet accepted Christ, but I was able to buy her a Bible and give it to her the other day — and she was so happy to receive it!
My team and I have just one week left here in Wobulezni before we head to Kenya. Please continue to keep us and M Squad in your prayers as we wind up our time here in Uganda and head on to Kenya. Two of my teammates, Gabe Bedford and Malerie Parenteau, are still not yet fully funded. Please continue to keep them in your prayers as well as they still need to make the deadline of $15,500!
I am still in need of personal funds to purchase things like toiletries (toothpaste, body wash, shampoo, floss, lotion, etc.), be able to pay for internet so I can write blogs and call home, and have money to be able to do fun things – like buy a cold pop from time to time or go sightseeing. If you would like to help donate to my personal fund, you can do so by donating money through PayPal. My email address is [email protected].
