LAUNCH DATE: SEPTEMBER 12TH
So… I am not leaving for a month, but I decided to go ahead and try to pack. I have been sorting and separating and subtracting stuff all week. Today I took the afternoon (4 hours of the afternoon) and tried to pack. I really think the correct description would be practice. I am packed, for the most part… but I have a feeling that after I actually have it weighed I am going to have to start all over – sorting, separating, subtracting…
Try to imagine it… 11 months, 1 backpack, 1 carry on bag. Imagine all the stuff you would “need” for a week camping… or a week long vacation… I am packing less for almost a year than I normally pack for a long weekend trip (well, less the tent, sleeping bag, sleeping mat, mess kit, knives, mosquito net, and tons of deet bug repellent).
Here’s the space I have to pack all my stuff for 11 months!
Here is everything I know I need to take with me… so, if my pack turns out to be way to heavy to fly (which I think is going to be a very real probability) then deciding what to leave behind is going to be quite the stressful task!
Here is the finished product. Yes, everything pictured above got stuffed in this bag. I just hope it can all stay in there!
I am so excited that this time next month I will be on my way to start this awesome journey. I want to thank all of you that have traveled with me so far. Thank you for being willing to be involved in every part of this race – from packing to prayer. I am so excited that we all get to be a part of bringing the Kingdom to the world – together!
Oh, I still need about $4,300 to be fully funded! Thank you for keeping this in your prayers! OH, HOW HE LOVES US!!!
