I have made it to Cambodia! Finally! Cambodia has been a country on my heart for quite a while now. Being here is such an answered prayer! Being that God has placed this nation on my heart, I am excited to see how God is going to show up and what His plans are for me here! One way God has already shown up is in my new team.
MY NEW TEAM
SPARE RIBS
…read Genesis 2:18-23… it should make sense…
Before the race began I felt God was preparing me for an “all girls” team. At this time I felt compelled to pray for very random and specific things. When our teams were revealed at training camp, I can honestly say I was confused. But, God has definitely been doing a lot of work in me and we have had so many adventures together these past 3 months. There have been laughter, tears, but growth and change too – none of which could have happened without all my teammates of Team Habibi – teammates that challenged me and encouraged me to be a better me…
Today we were given new teams. My team consists of 5 other amazing women! Yes! Women! – And God revealed this in Cambodia! He is just so Good, and Awesome… and sometimes He just makes me laugh! After our teams were announced we had an hour of silence – for prayer and processing. During this God really opened up my heart to fall in love with each of these women in very specific ways. He opened my eyes to see them – to really see them – the ways He sees them – and showed me ways to encourage them, challenge them, love them, and serve them… ways I could be a part of them becoming more of who God called them to be. And, strangely enough, the prayers that I was praying before the race began, regarding some team that never was at the start of the race, all started to make sense! Oh, how He loves us!!

God has revealed to me that this month is to be a month of surrender. I am not completely sure what that looks like, but I am just excited that God is working in my life! I do know that the first thing God asked me to surrender was the role of “finances” for my team. But, I am really excited for my new team! I am excited for the potential that is on our team. I am excited for the gifts these women have and am more excited to see them begin to walk into them with power and authority and freedom. I am excited to see God show up and His Spirit move through us in mighty, life changing, world changing ways! It is going to be a crazy awesome month!
I am not entirely sure what ministry looks like for us yet. I do know that we are leaving Siem Reap tomorrow morning and heading to Phnom Penh. Our ministry is located somewhere about an hour and a half outside of Phnom Penh. We will be working with a church and a ministry called “teen challenge”. I am so ready and excited to join God in what He is doing in and with these ministries!
Till then….
Our team spent our first day together with lunch, shopping, sight seeing, and then sampling some fine Cambodian cuisine – snakes and roaches! … I am still on the look out for some fried tarantellas! Here are a couple pictures and a short video of the experience!
