Above is a small re-cap of my first month on the world race…
here is my entire month in the Philippines in less than 5 minutes!  Enjoy!

 
NEVER HAVE I EVER…  UNTIL THE PHILIPPINES…

…been to the Hong Kong Airport
…visited Manila
…visited El Nido
…gotten lost taking pictures and had to pray for help to get home (God provided!)
…had my feet swell 3 times larger than normal size (still for reasons unknown)
…been extremely excited about taking a cold shower
…been on a 14 hour plane ride
…skipped a whole day because of the time change
…prayed for a deceased woman to get up
…hiked up mountains to find a “secret” pre-school
…snorkeled and ate a lunch that consisted of the fish i just saw
…was asked to build a house with only a machete, a shovel, and some cut down trees
…spent an entire afternoon making food for worms
…had coffee with the mayor of El Nido
…been asked my marital status at every introduction
…been so close to a huge, deadly scorpion
…had to wash my clothes in a bucket, ring out by hand, and hang up outside
…worry about the weather because my clothes are drying and it rains – everyday
…found it easier to wash my clothes in the shower (while i am still wearing them!)
…been so excited to get my clothes from outside to find them dry and smell free! 🙂
…had to flush the toilet by filling up buckets with water and pouring them in the toilet
…had a chicken killed for me, just so i could eat lunch
…changed my clothes because what i was wearing was too clean (need to conserve!)
…tried to live with 6 other people, 24 hours a day, and actually work at getting along
…eaten “grainy” peanut butter
…eaten pork that still had the skin on it – and hair!
…eaten a chicken foot
…eaten dried fish (little crispy fish they like to eat whole – a snack like chips!)- i love ’em!
…drank the most fantastic lemongrass tea – amazing with or without the ants!
…had energen – my new favorite food ever!
…drank coconut milk out of a coconut that a little man climbed a tree and got down
…had pineapple pancakes with chocolate/maple syrup (best things ever!!)
…seen such beautiful creation
…realized the true meaning of the joy of the Lord is my strength
…had such amazing worship and devotions with Philippeno missionaries
…met such dedicated workers for Christ (ICM workers)
…had so much fun

 
NOW – ON TO MALAYSIA…
 
We are leaving Sunday morning and driving in a van for about 7 hours to Peurto Princessa and flying from there Sunday night to Manila and we have a 8 hour layover in Manila then we will fly from there to Singapore.  In Singapore we have a 5 hour layover then we will fly into Malaysia.  Once in Malaysia we will take a train to our contact.  Oh, how I love travel days….
