I have seen God heal the deaf and mute!
That deaf and mute was ME!

But Moses pleaded with the Lord, “O Lord, I’m just not a good speaker, I never have been, and I’m not now, even after you have spoken to me.  I’m clumsy with words.”
“Who makes mouths?” the Lord asked him.  “Who makes people so they can speak or not speak, hear or not hear, see or not see?  Is it not I, the Lord?  Now go, and do as I have told you.  I will help you speak well, and I will tell you what to say.”
But Moses again pleaded, “Lord, please! Send someone else.”
   – Exodus 4:10-13

I found that one of my biggest struggles is discerning and questioning if I am actually hearing God’s voice.  I mean what does God’s voice sound like?  How can I know what I am “hearing” is actually from Him?

After much thought and prayer and meditation God said this:

1.  If you read the Word and know my Words then you know my voice and what it sounds like.
2.  The Holy Spirit will lead you into all truth.

3.  My voice is powerful, I merely spoke and the heavens were created,
I breathed one word and all the stars were born (Psalm 33:6).  When I speak you will know!

The voice of the Lord echoes above the sea.  The God of glory thunders.  The Lord thunders over the mighty sea.  The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.  The voice of the Lord splits the might cedars; the Lord shatters the cedars of Lebanon.  The voice of the Lord strikes with lightening bolts.  The voice of the Lord makes the desert quake; the Lord shakes the desert of Kadesh.  The voice of the Lord twists mighty oaks and strips the forest bare.  Psalm 29: 3-5,7-9

But, then what?  What am I supposed to do with His words once I hear His voice?

Then I said, “My destruction is sealed, for I am a sinful man and a member of a sinful race.  Yet I have seen the King, the Lord Almighty!”
Then one of the seraphim flew over to the altar, and picked up a burning coal with a pair of tongs.  He touched my lips with it and said, “See, this coal has touched your lips.  Now your guilt is removed, and your sins are forgiven.”
Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to my people?  Who will go for us?

And I said, “Lord, I’ll go! Send me.”
   – Isaiah 6:5-8

God has pointed out to me that when He speaks to me I react and respond much like  Moses did, pleading with Him to pick someone else, and all He really wants is for me is to have the willingness of Isaiah.  Even after Moses heard God speak he still felt unworthy to do what God had requested.  Isaiah knew he was unworthy but once his sins were forgiven and his guilt removed he didn’t question or hesitate to do whatever God asked.

God has revealed to me that I really am forgiven and my guilt really has been removed and I am, not only allowed, to be bold and confident before God – but that is what He wants from me.  I am allowed to not only know God’s truths and promises for me, but I am allowed to believe them and walk them out with beautiful authority.

Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to my people?  Who will go for us?

And I said, “Lord, I’ll go! Send me.”
