Famous Ray’s Restaurant (American food: burgers and milkshakes!) is the foundation of our ministry. All of the Outpour team members work for the restaurant in some way at least one day a week. It was created as a way to give jobs to young Burmese Refugees and for it to hopefully lead to discipleship relationships. In addition, all profits go to support the Refuge Children’s home (which used to be located in the refugee camp, but has been able to move into town now).
The restaurant is also the hub for teams that come to work with us such as the World Race, YWAM, and others. At the restaurant my job is to keep up a system for housekeeping and to plan the Promotional events. We have already had a successful Trivia Night!
The restaurant is a great place to reach out to travellers passing through town and NGO workers, and many relationships have been formed with the community through its existence.
