This month, my teammate Janee and I decided that we wanted
to challenge ourselves with photography projects for the rest of the Race. I
finally got a camera at the end of our month in Malaysia, so I have been really
excited to use it.

For our first week, our theme is Light. I am thinking about
posting some of my favorite photos from each week on my blog, so I hope you
like them. Each one tells has its own story and will hopefully give a fun new
angle to life on the field.

This first photo is probably my favorite. I was trying to
take some shots of the railroad tracks, and this little schoolgirl seemed
determined to get in my shot. In the end, she made it.

This next one is of Jeremy, our little 2 year old “brother”
for the month. We absolutely love this little guy, though true to his age, he
drives us a little nuts at times. On the day I took this, we had gone into town
to tour the cheese factory, which is the only thing we were recommended to see
by Lonely Planet. Its, not very big, but we enjoyed looking around and buying
some delicious ice cream before we left.

Every week, we do “home cells” in different areas for the
church members. The “hill area” is my favorite place to go do home cells,
though it takes about an hour to walk there, (not surprisingly) through the
hills. On the day I took this photo, we had been walking in the hill area going
door to door, when a huge storm hit and we had to run back to this little mud
house to get out of the rain. The house didn’t have electricity and we sat in the
dark for about two hours until the rain calmed. Then we creaked the door open a
bit and the home cell began.
