Yesterday morning my friends and I took a gondola up the side of Pichincha Volcano. We spent about an hour and a half hiking to higher elevation and breathing in the glory of the landscape around us.
On the walk down the mountain, I saw a little trail enshrouded with what looked to be wheat. I got excited, because God often uses wheat as imagery to speak to me. I walked a few feet down the trail, and my friend Alyssa followed with a camera to take some pictures. She asked me what my favorite word is and what I feel the Lord is teaching me.
My favorite word is giving,
And I believe the Lord is teaching me how to tell my story.
We were a group of about 8 people, and everyone in turn had their portrait taken in the same place where I first stood on that little trail.
As we were walking away, God impressed this upon my heart:
“You found the trail and led others into that place. You are learning how to invite others into who you are.”
My heart is calmed by His whispered assurance. In the sacred place where grace meets truth, we are invited in to be restored. And then, our voice can become the invitation for others to be who they are. Who they truly are- His beloved.
Thanks, God.
