This month I had the privilege of teaching a College Bible Study class. These kids were incredible to be with for my time in Myanmar. I wanted their stories to be heard and so with their approval, I recorded some of their testimonies to share with you all. On our last day of class, I was able to have a photoshoot with my class and so that is what these photographs are from. It was so much fun using the talents the Lord has blessed me with for my ministry, letting these young adults know how beautiful they are both inside & out and that God created them each specifically and individually for a purpose.
They have taught me so much this month, probably more than I taught them to be honest. They have shown me how to love one another, how to be excited to dive into the word every day, and how to create big dreams for yourselves. Some want to become pastors, church planters, missionaries in Myanmar, missionaries in China; these people are building Kingdom here in Myanmar where less than 10% of people are Christians. I apologize in advance for the broken English, this is their words and their hearts.
Enjoy!

“My name is My name is Ta Na Me, I come from Chin State. I am 39 years old. I have 3 daughters in high school education. I am coming to bible school to become a missionary. My goal is church planting by giving medicine to sick women and children and spread the good news. I have many relatives that are Buddhism. I was once Buddhism and then converted over to Christianity. I came to Jesus with the Holy Spirit when I was sleeping. I had a revelation from God. A beautiful lady came down and changed my dress to a white color, white & shining. Earrings, bracelet, slippers, I felt very happy and excited. The next day a man came to me and told me I can eat. I felt sick and had diarrhea, and he said I may eat I said no I am not eating. The next day I am laying in bed thinking and reading the Bible and come to Jeremiah 10:11: “Tell them this: ‘These gods, who did not make the heavens and the earth, will perish from the earth and from under the heavens.’” So that is my scripture that converted me. Next I am thinking of God and the difference of this God and the other gods. Sitting and wondering if what I am worshipping is true or false. I go to hospital and no I am not healthy or good. My stomach is sick, I get ultrasounds, no I am not good. My disease was worse. I am bad, so I know that the gods do not save my life. Immediately I wake up from a nightmare and my eyes and my heart were suddenly changed. I knew God is really really real in that moment. So need something. I am thinking I needed God. So I go to Mandalay and see idols and Buddhism and witness people worshipping idols with each other. So I saw it and I knew that is not god. It is not the living god. So I believe in God and baptism. My heart was converted and I am living my life for Christ to this day. Thank you.”

“My name is Ban Jo and I come from Chin state. I am 19 years old and I have 5 sisters and my parents are still alive. They live in Chin state and now I am a student in Bible college. I want to share about myself and my testimony. Before this college, I was a farmer and it was really hard work. Three years ago I attended education but I failed grade 9 and I became a farmer and I struggled for my life and had no peace. I prayed again and again. One day, I received salvation by a book called ‘The Book of Salvation” and God called me to study His living word and I came here (bible school). I praise again and again for hope and vision. My second year here I had a vision of becoming a church planter and I am very excited to become a church planter. God has given me in my dream to become a church planter and I Believe Jesus Christ will fulfill that and I will be a church planter. As you all know, our country has many unbelievers. We have 10% Christianity so we need to share the gospel and have missionaries. Friends in USA, please pray for us. We need prayers and help for our country. Please I want you to not forget our country. Please pray for us and finally I want to say thank you for the world race team. Thank you for your help and teaching English. We learned in your life your humble and patient to us, thank you so much for you and God bless you. We pray for you and your country and your families and your life. God will bless you.”

“My name is Mu Mu, I am 23 years old. I grew up in Chin State. When I was 19 years old I encountered Jesus in my life. Before I encountered Jesus Christ I was a worker in a company. 2 years ago I received Jesus Christ as my savior and I came here to study the Bible. And now I have been here for 3 years. After I finish here I wanted to become a missionary and a bible school teacher. 1 John 4:4: “The one who is in you is the one who is greater in the world.” That is my favorite scripture verse. I want to encourage you all we can do nothing by ourselves but with God we can do everything. Thank you so much.”

“I am 19 years old. I come from Chin State. I have 4 sisters. I was 14 years old and Jesus became my savior. I want to preach and teach the good news that Jesus is my Savior. I come from a Christian family. I go to church every Sunday.”

I hope that these stories impacted you in some positive way as they did for me. These Burmese students have such big dreams and they inspired me in just one month of being together. I am so thankful for the relationships the Lord allowed me to have while in Myanmar, definitely an incredible month on my race!

Much love,
