For the same Lord is Lord over all, and He abounds in riches for all who call on Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” But how will people call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how will they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a messenger? And how will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written and forever remains written, How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good things!

Romans 10:12-15

God tells us to go. Get out of your comfort zone and go forth with joy. But this isn’t news to us, or at least it shouldn’t be. A couple of years ago (circa 32 A.D.), Jesus commissioned us to bring his name everywhere: Judea, Samaria, Jerusalem, the ends of the earth, etc, etc. Why? Because, while we have the Bible app with premade bible studies, there are tribes and nations that still have yet to experience the joy of the Good News! “How will they know unless we tell them?” Paul inquires. Well, Paul, I’m glad you asked.

This is the same Paul that said,

“Compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me, except that the Holy Spirit solemnly affirms to me that imprisonment and suffering await me. But I don’t consider my life dear to me, so that I may finish with joy my course and the ministry, to testify faithfully of the good news of God’s precious, undeserved grace, which makes us free of the guilt of sin and grants us eternal life.” Acts 20: 23-24

Hold up, let’s rehash this.

FADE IN — PAN OVER — PAUL IN MILETUS, GREECE

Paul: How will they know unless you tell them?

*cue crickets*

Paul: That’s right, they won’t. That’s why I’m leaving, even though the Holy Spirit testifies to me that suffering awaits me in every city that I will go to. But I don’t mind suffering for the Kingdom because my life is not dear to me. I’ll die to share this joy.

I hope this verse (and subsequent screenwrite) invades your heart with a longing to do something meaningful with your life. Friends, these passages invaded my heart months ago, and God has taylored a response that’s unique to my passions: The World Race. The World Race is a ministry that sends young people into some of the darkest parts of the world for 11 months with some really really Good News. Partnering with over 1,000 organizations in over 80 countries, WR is passionate to combat sex slavery in the red-light district, care for orphans in India, pray for the sick in hard-to-reach Nepali villages, bring hope to the imprisoned, and love everyone in between. In October of 2018, I will embark on this 11 month adventure, visiting 11 countries and bringing with me the News that gives me life, makes me new, and overwhelms me with joy daily. Hallelujah! The route is as follows: Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Lesotho, Swaziland, South Africa, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador.

With that, I want you to join my team as I work toward raising $18,000. This can be a daunting number, but with the combination of a faithful and provisional God and countless radical believers surrounding me, I know that I don’t even need to flinch.  My hope is that you would consider if you are able to support me and ask God if you are willing to do so. In this way, you are able to join me and share with me in the mission of Jesus.

I also long for your prayers not only now as I begin to prepare, but also one year from now when I’m in Lesotho. Specifically, that God would ready my team and me for the relationships that we will make and that He would humble our hearts and grant wisdom, patience, and discernment.

With love,

Adria
