Typically when I write, my process begins with a revelation. I think about it, pray about it, talk about it, and write about it for only my eyes to see. This goes on for days until I feel like the revelation has become part of my DNA, that is, until the new perspective at hand has become part of my unprompted, spontaneous nature. If I discern that I’m supposed to blog about it, I typically draft and redraft until I feel confident in my words.
This is all to say that it makes me pretty nervous to uphold the weekly blogging standard. It’s not typically in my writing style to tell you about what I had to eat, what I packed for the Race, or even how fundraising is going. But I know that there are details that are important for you to know outside of the revelations that Holy Spirit is ministering to me.
I write this as a bit of a preface to my year as a storyteller. One of my heart’s inmost desires is to share words that are productive and eternally profitable for both parties. And I have every intention of indulging such ambition. But I need Holy Spirit to unleash freedom so that I can candidly share my experiences with confidence that He will do with my words whatever He decides is on His agenda.
Despite my apprehension, I’m so excited to send you updates. Know that every word I write to you is prayed over, meditated on, and written with you in mind.
FUNDRAISING
This is actually really exciting and I regret not sharing earlier. As I was on the way back to LA at the end of August, I shared a series of funny photos on my Instagram story with captions about the $2,000 that I needed in order to be fully funded. I had done some calculations and arrived at asking for every fourth person watching my Instagram story to donate $10. Less than 24 hours later, friends, family, and strangers had donated a collective $2,000. Some people sent me $5 and some people sent me numbers in the hundreds. Meaning that I am FULLY FUNDED! (contingent upon my monthly supporters continuing with their support).
If you’re willing and able to donate toward my cost of living, there are 2 ways to do so:
1. Click the “donate” button above
2. Via venmo (@adriajohnson), PayPal ([email protected]) or CashApp (adriajojo).
THANK YOU so much to those of you who have been so generous with your time, money, and prayers. I’ve had so many people intercede for me without even asking. What a gift.
I am continually thanking God for you. Bless you each.

PS. I just about posted this blog without having mentioned that I am on the way to Atlanta right now for a couple of last minute meetings before we head to the Philippines on Tuesday!
