Dear Family and Friends,
I hope this letter finds you well! I wanted to take a little bit of time to update you on what is going on with me! I have been given the amazing opportunity to participate in the World Race. The World Race is an organization based out of Adventures in Missions that takes young adults with the heart of sharing Jesus into 11 different countries in 11 months. I will leave in August.
Throughout my journey, God willing, I will be going to Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Philippines, China, Ukraine, Moldova and Romania. Wow, what a sentence! These countries all have different cultures, traditions, and religious beliefs. Each country brings a new challenge and a new purpose for me, and my squad I will travel with during these months. On the race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children who are trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring the restoration and hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations.
I know that this trip is absolutely going to wreck me, spiritually, mentally, physically, and also financially. At the same time I am confident that God will be ever shaping me more and more into His image, while encouraging people with the Gospel and to a life of salvation. Thus far, God has really given me protection and guidance on this trip, essentially holding my hand saying “It’s ok I’m with you,” which excites and helps me with my uncertainty of what is to come within this year.
What I would ask of you most importantly is to pray for me! I need encouragement along the way, and knowing that I have the support of loved ones in prayer will help out tremendously. The cost of the trip is $14,800, which will cover all the expenses that I will have in the field. I know and fully trust that where God guides, God provides and I take comfort in that, as I am being called to this! I am a living testimony of God’s provision so far, and know God has placed wonderful people in my life that can encourage me in prayer and financially.
One blessing about this trip is that I do not have to have all of the support by August, although I need the majority of it! This allows for both monthly pledges and also one-time donations. I ask that you will take this letter and prayerfully consider partnering in ministry with me throughout this race. I fully acknowledge that I will not be alone on this journey, but instead going alongside all of the people who help make this trip possible for me.
Everyday I am becoming more and more excited for this experience and to see what God has in store for me throughout this next year. My biggest hope for this trip is that I will be a blessing to the people I encounter while on the race, but also to you as well. Please visit my blog at: http://adreaross.theworldrace.org/to read more about my race. You can click on the “Support Me” link on the left of the blog to financially support me, and also subscribe to my blogs to continue reading about this experience. If you would like to send in a check you can make checks payable to Adventures In Missions and return the response card with your donation to Adventures In Missions, PO Box 534470, Atlanta, GA, 30353-4470. The response card will provide AIM with the information necessary to send you a receipt for your donation. I am honored to have this privilege of being the ‘hands and feet’ of Christ and pray that you would be blessed in helping me in this.
Thank you in advance for your prayer and support!
