Oh what to say? Soo much to say so little internet connection. Where to even begin? Its been a hard couple of weeks, good but hard. It feels like I have been in Kenya for way longer than I have been.
Weve moved back to the hostel because well it took too long to drive where we were staying-even though its not far..we blame them on the ‘jams.’ It was awesome to stay with locals and have them love on us, but it really makes more sense to be in the city. Hope to visit them again at the end of the month.
Our group is becoming family, which is good. We are all seeing each other in a real way and just learning more and more about who they are. The other groups are all doin their stuff and the leaders are gone now, and its just us. There has been a lot of confusion and lack of direction, but were coming together through that. We have been frustrated in what were doing at times, and still don’t fully know our role but I think were becoming ok with that.
I saw a man in a Seminole hat and it made my day. To all those Calvary Chapelians, I heard a sermon from a pastor somewhere in Florida here on the radio, it was encouraging-I didn’t feel far from home. I had a cheeseburger and fries last night for dinner.
On another note-there is more pollution in Nairobi than I have ever experienced-ever. It also has the worst traffic I have ever seen, ever. Yesterday we were in the car for 3 hours and we went 20 km, 8 people in like a Rav4. I can easily say my patience will be stretched this year.
