Hineni

 

As a team, we chose the team name Hineni (pronounced hee-nay-nee). It is a Hebrew word that means “Here I am” but it can be translated into “Here I am, here I stand, I am ready.” I researched the word a little and found that when we step out in faith and say “here I am” God also steps toward you and says “here I am as well.” Throughout the week at training camp I was impressed with the thought that if I draw closer to Christ He will draw closer to me. I feel that as a team we are here (wherever the “here” may be), we are standing (with each other and firm in our faith), and we are ready to be used by God in whatever ways He sees fit. This is not only our team name but our pledge and God’s promise to us.
