i’m still in minnesota. i have not yet gone to my training for the world race (that’ll take place at the end of july) so there is not much to update, but i’m just practicing my blogging skills and if you’re interested in reading then yay!
i am preparing for my trip in several ways right now. i am praying about the funding since that is something that makes me pretty nervous, however, i’m trying to have faith. i have also been praying about the trip in general: the people we will meet and interact with, our team, that the Holy Spirit would be able to work through us. plus, i have been diving into the Word and trying to prepare myself spiritually and intellectually. i am currently reading two books by Chip Ingram: Living on the Edge and The Invisible War: What Every Believer Needs to Know about Satan, Demons, and Spiritual Warfare. Living on the Edge is based on Romans 12 and gives you an outline of how to relate to God, yourself, other believers and non-believers. The Invisible War is about being aware of and prepared for spiritual warfare and is based on Ephesians 6:10-12. I am also reading Tactics by Greg Koukl which gives good strategies on how to share your Christian faith, and The Problem of Pain by C.S. Lewis – i’m trying to make my way through his books and that happens to be the one i’m currently on. And finally, when i have some down time and want to read for fun i’m reading the Left Behind series, a fiction serious about the apocalyptic end times.
i ask for your prayers at this time, as it is a great opportunity for spiritual warfare.
until next time…
