So I was reading Ephesians this week in my One Year Bible. I really enjoy this Bible; it has devotions and “insights” scattered through the pages to help increase your knowledge and challenge your faith. I was reading my devotions and it challenged me to go back through Ephesians with the mindset of considering “Because I am in Christ, I am/have __________ and I will live out appreciation for this today by _________.” So I went back through the book and was able to come up with seventeen different answers in the first chapter alone. I thought I would share some of my findings:
Because I am in Christ, I have BEEN BLESSED WITH EVERY SPIRITUAL BLESSING
Because I am in Christ, I am UNITED WITH CHRIST
Because I am in Christ, I am LOVED BY GOD
Because I am in Christ, I am HOLY AND WIHOUT FAULT IN GOD’S EYES
Because I am in Christ, I have BEEN ADOPTED BY GOD AND BROUGHT TO HIM
Because I am in Christ, I have THE GLORIOUS GRACE OF GOD THROUGH HIS SON
Because I am in Christ, I have FREEDOM
Because I am in Christ, I have BEEN FORGIVEN OF MY SINS
Because I am in Christ, I have BEEN SHOWERED WITH GOD’S KINDNESS, WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING
Because I am in Christ, I have THE REVELATION OF GOD’S MYSTERIOUS PLAN THROUGH CHRIST
Because I am in Christ, I am UNITED WITH CHRIST
Because I am in Christ, I have RECEIVED AN INHERITANCE FROM GOD
Because I am in Christ, I have CONFIDENT HOPE
Because I am in Christ, I am ABLE TO LIVE IN THE LIGHT
Because I am in Christ, I have THE SAME MIGHTY POWER THAT RAISED CHRIST FROM THE DEAD LIVING IN ME
Because I am in Christ, I have BEEN MADE FULL AND COMPLETE THROUGH CHRIST
Because I am in Christ, I have BEEN FILLED WITH CHRIST
I challenge you to go through Ephesians and consider “Because I am in Christ, I am/have ________” and you can apply this to your life by considering the rest of the sentence: “and I will live out appreciation for this today by ________.” I hope this will help you in your walk!
