Hello Friends and Family,
I don’t even know where to start with this letter! God has been SOOOO good to me! As most of you know, The World Race is an 11 month, 11 country mission trip to take the hope of Christ to the “least of these”. On my trip I will be doing ministry in each of the following countries for 1 month: Ireland, Ukraine, Russia, Mozambique, Tanzania, Kenya, India, Nepal, Cambodia, Thailand, and Malaysia! Ministry in each context will look very different: I will be working with orphans in parts of Africa; I will teach English and work with women trapped in sex slavery in Asia; I will be working with street kids who have little to no hope for a future in parts of Ireland. I will be working with established ministries in almost every country so there will still be people on the ground long after I leave.
Now that I have caught you up just a little bit I have two very specific, very exciting pieces of news to share!
I have just returned from training camp which was held in White, GA. Training camp was an almost indescribable experience. Imagine two hundred 21-35 year olds who are 100% sold out to make the name of Jesus famous all around the world! They dream of wiping every form of injustice clean off the face of the planet because they know our God hates injustice even more than they do! They pray and believe that the God of the Bible not only hears them pray, but loves to hold a conversation with His kids! I can’t tell you how excited I am to spend the next 11 months serving along side of them and growing closer to Jesus with them!
The BIG thing I want to share with you about training camp is that I have been chosen to lead my team! As a team leader, I have quite a few responsibilities. A few of them are: Communicating with The World Race offices Stateside; Keeping my squad leaders informed with what’s going on with my team; Leading my team both physically as we travel to the 11 different countries and also leading them into a closer relationship with Jesus! I’m humbled by this opportunity and if I can be honest I feel a little overwhelmed, but I know God has an amazing plan and because of that, I’m ALL IN!
The last thing I want to share is how my fundraising is going and the needs I still have! As I type this right now God has provided $4,536.83!!! I can’t thank you enough if you have already given!
My next financial deadline is June 15th and it is $6500!
This financial deadline is a hard deadline. I don’t mean that it will be hard to get the financial support required to meet this deadline, but hard as in if I do not have $6500 in my account on June 15th then I can not leave with my team in July, period!
So here is the question: Will you consider giving? Will you consider giving to what God is doing around the world? Will you consider giving to what God is doing in me? Will you consider giving even if you have already given sacrificially?
Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to read this and consider giving.
