I have been working on the ministry website for our local contact over the last few weeks. I have had the opportunity to do some really awesome things and meet some really amazing people. There is so much good ministry going on here and this is the way for me to be the best part of it that I can in this place.

Yesterday was very different though. I had been asked by our local contact named Jeff to get all the profiles of all the kids that are living in the childrens homes, both here and in Malaybalay ready to go on the website so that way we could have them ready for a group that will be coming here to do ministry. They wanted the lists so they could pray for the kids.

As I started to read through the profiles and make and corrections for grammer, my heart was broken so many times. I know that my heart was shattered and I am not sure if it will ever be whole again. I am ok with that though, because I have asked God to break my heart for the things that break His heart. I know that what all of these precious children of God have gone through breaks the heart of God.

I will show you a little of what I read and of course I have to change names to protect the kids and also due to Philippino law. Here is one of hardest ones to deal with.

She is from El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental.

She was admitted to the New Faith Family Children’s Home Foundation April 3, 2008.

She was referred by the City Social Welfare and Development Office- El Salvador City.

She was a victim of physical abused by her biological mother. According to the mother she abused “Sally” physically because she reminded her of “Sally’s” father who physically abuses her. For her to satisfy her desire for revenge against the father of “Sally” she treated her that way.

Her parents got separated when she was still very young. Both of her parents have their own family at present.

Her mother after surrendering her said that she doesn’t care for “Sally” anymore.

She is friendly and easily makes new friends.

She is now studying at Bethel School in grade 2.

Sally wants to be a missionary someday to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Her paper is ready for re submission at DSWD-X for clearance. It was returned to validate the report of the child’s background made by the former social worker.

Upon validation of the current social worker over the child case, upon interview to her biological mother, it was disclosed that the child was victim of incest to her biological father.

Here is another one that I cannot help but cry about, to see such torment in the life of one so young is very hard for me.

He was admitted to the children’s home February 23, 2010

He is currently studying at Bethel Baptist School in grade 2.

His biological mother left him while he was asleep in the street around midnight. The child tried to find his mother and his younger half brother but he couldn’t find them. He stayed for a couple of weeks in the streets to survive but then he went to his grandfather’s home but his two uncles physically abused him so he returned to the streets to beg, even eating leaves in the trashcan to survive.

A good citizen referred him at the children’s home for a proper case disposition.

He is smart and his favorite subjects in school are science and English.

He is doing well at the children’s home and the home teacher has observed that he is intelligent.

The social worker is now working with mass media to gather some information about him and to find his pertinent documents.

To think that these little beautiful angels had to suffer through so much makes me angry and brokenhearted at the same time. I want to tell you more but I do not want this post to be too long so you will have to read my next one…..
