Well I’ve nearly come to the end of my first country already, it’s crazy!  It seems like we just started, and soon we’re off to Romania.  Our last week here, I was able to work exclusively with my team for a couple of days, painting in the house of some church members.  A significant part of the ministry here has involved splitting up my team and working with parts of other teams, which was fun, but didn’t give us much of a chance to grow together as a small team.  I think we definitely took advantage of the opportunity as there was some conflict, but a lot of growth.  On Wednesday, all the team leaders came together for a day of ministry and fellowship and it was amazing.  God has blessed me with incredible squad leaders and a group of awesome young men and women that are leading beside me.  It was fantastic to be able to hang out with these people all day, when we’re used to just meeting for a few minutes here and there.  Our day off was Friday and we spent the day at the Cliffs of Moher.

It was absolutely breathtaking and was by far the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen.  Saturday’s ministry was probably my favorite out of my entire time in Ireland.  We set up a face-painting booth on shop street to draw people in, then we would tell them about the church.  I played guitar on the street corner to draw people in as well.  I was pretty nervous because, let’s face it, playing guitar on Shop Street in Ireland is pretty intense.  I laid out my guitar case just in case some people would give me money so I could put it in the next day’s offering.  I wasn’t expecting much, I’m not that good, but I made 15 euros in about two hours!  It was one of the coolest experiences yet.

Spiritually, I’m doing better.  I’m learning that I can’t look far down the road because I don’t know where I’ll be or what I’ll be doing.  All I can do is look where my next footstep will fall.  Anything else scares me and distracts me from what is going on now.  All I can do is concentrate on what I’m doing RIGHT NOW and leave the rest up to God.  It seems like a trivial lesson, but it has been HUGE for me.

We leave Tuesday morning on a bus for Dublin, then we’ll fly to Bucharest.  After we land, we’ll board an all-night bus (I was hoping it would be a midnight train, so I could sing a little Journey) bound for Viile Techii, Romania, a small gypsy village in the northern part of the country.  That’s all for now.  Internet access will be very spotty in Romania, so I may not even be able to post this until next week some time.  Thanks for your prayers, I love you all!
