Just a few short weeks ago I was having a conversation with a high school student at Camp Peniel (a Christian youth camp I worked at this summer). “How much money do you need in two weeks?” “$4,000” I replied. He looked doubtful. “And when do you need it?” “In about two weeks.” Silence accompanied by a raised eyebrow. But, I remembered back to when God had provided in the past and so I said, “It’ll come. I’ll tell you the story of how it does afterwards.”
Miraculously, it did come. I am now able to go to “Launch Training” this September 5th and then fly out with my squad to Cambodia!
I have been so blown away and amazed by how everyone has so jumped on board with what I’m doing and given so generously!
I don’t feel like my words are enough to thank you for believing in me and the work that God is going to do through this trip.
I have learned that God calls us to the impossible so that we realize our own insufficiencies and then rely on His sufficiency. Throughout support-raising I’ve been reminded of the story of Elijah and the ravens. In the midst of a drought and famine he was fed bread and meat delivered by ravens morning and evening (1 Kings 17). In our lack God provides in supernatural ways!
*If you would still like to give you can give on the “Support Me” page. My next deadline will be in December for $11,000. (No longer use the PayPal option.)
