Stupid, gullible, controlled, unworthy, not enough, confused, angry, bitter and sad. This is how you feel. You think it’s your fault. If only you could have done something differently, said something or acted a certain way, he would have treated you better.
If only you were worthy, he would treat you like it. If you weren’t so stupid, he would have treated you with respect. If only you had clearer skin or bigger boobs, he would tell you you’re beautiful. If you had let him go a little further, maybe he would have been happy. Maybe he would have loved you.
These are the lies satan has led you to believe.
lies.
This is not your fault. I repeat, NOT your fault.
You are worthy and a child of God; a princess. You deserve to be treated with utmost royalty.
You are smart and made with purpose. That boy used you and tried to steal that purpose from you. Now you see it and know not to let it happen again.
You are God’s creation. God is perfect and His creation is absolutely stunning. Yes that’s right my darling, you are absolutely stunning.
So now you’re mad. You’re not just mad, you’re furious. Your body is shaking in rage and you can’t think straight. What that boy did to you was wrong. He lied to you. He took advantage of you. He hurt you and that is not okay. Bitterness sets in and you become hungry for revenge. He deserves to experience the pain he put you through.
You want to pull a Carrie Underwood and trash his four-wheel drive. You want to go home and load your shotgun. And that boy should know you are fully capable of doing so.
Here’s where satan attacks you with his lies again.
Satan begins to whisper it’s that boy’s fault and he can’t get away with what he did to you. You have to show that boy you are not to be played with. Getting sweet revenge will make you happy. That boy made himself your enemy and he will pay.
Wrong.
Lies.
Know who the enemy really is. That boy is not your enemy, satan is. The enemy has gotten a hold of and is controlling that boy. Do not let him control you too.
Do not stoop down to play in satan’s games.
Defeat satan.
How do you do that?
•Submit yourself to God. Resist satan, and he will flee from you(James 4:7).
•Go on a spiritual offense instead of a spiritual defense. Tuning into what God tells you and obeying Him will kill satan.
And what does God tell you to do?
•Love your neighbor as yourself(Mark 12:31). God says you are to love the way you want to be loved. And yes, that boy is your neighbor too.
•Forgive(Ephesians 4:32 & Colossians 3:13). Do not hate that boy. Hate what satan tempted him to do and forgive that boy.
•Trust that God will take care of that boy(Hebrews 10:30-31 & Ezekiel 36:26-27). Giving vengeance or changing that boy is not your job, it’s God’s. Trust that He will handle it.
I want you to notice all this time I’ve referred to the one who hurt you as a “boy.” That is exactly what he is. A boy who chases after whatever he desires to make him happy. That boy cannot love you because he does not know love. All he knows is lust. That boy is lost and in the direction he’s heading in, he’s destined to never grow up.
So cut him out. Don’t talk to him. You can’t change him, and trying to do so will cause you pain. Doing something that harms you is not God’s will. God has something better for you. Move on.
Ask God for a man. A man who will love you, respect you and treat you the way you are worthy to be treated. Most importantly though, a man who loves Jesus and desires God’s will. Chase after Papa, and He will give you the desires of your heart.
So to the girl with the broken heart, don’t let that boy get to you because you deserve a man.
