One bright spot of my days has been watching live church every Sunday with my quarantine crew. I think God is calling me to not just wait out this time, but instead use it as a chance to refresh and rebuild good habits. The God we believe in is all powerful and we trust that his plans are better than our own. Over the last couple months, most of us have had our life ripped out from under us and lost all our big plans. I myself got the opportunity to move in with my best friend and her family, which has given me the chance to build new bonds and lighten my financial load. I also was temporary laid off due to COVID-19, which has given me the chance to spend more time growing closer to God and building positive habits like doing daily devotions and runs. In this time, we can choose the path of self-pity and complaining, or we can choose to use this as an opportunity to strengthen our faith and look forward to what God is planning, even though we don’t know what that is.

As far as trip updates, our training has been moved to September, which means we will be leaving for Romania directly after training. For right now that is the only changes that have happened with the trip, so God willing I will be heading to training in September which is very exciting.

Now for some very good news, last night I hit $4,000 in my fundraising which means I have 25% of the money raised! This is all thanks to all of you, my amazing support group, I am so thankful to have such an amazing group of individuals backing me up as I prepare for this trip. Now while this is a big milestone, I still have 75% to go and only 4 months left. Due to COVID-19 most of my fundraisers have been postponed, which means individual donations are more important than ever. I also still have my “Adopt A Box’ which may seem like smaller donations, but it adds up fast and once all the boxes are filled it equals $5,000 which would get my total to $9,000. How does this work? You pick a number between 1-100 to donate, then you just let me know which number it is and I mark your name off on the box.

I would like to end this post with a prayer,

Dear God,

I pray that You continue to work through Your children in this time of darkness, I pray that we come out of this with more hunger and thirst for You than ever before. I pray that this shut down of society will bring together the community by bonding us, so that we may grow closer to You. I pray that You continue to show us Your love and faithfulness. I pray that anyone who is anxious or fearful of this disease will put their faith in You and that You will lift all their fears and worries off their shoulders.

In God’s name I pray, Amen
